Quetzal, Orta Amerika Kıtasında yaşayan, bölgeye has bir kuş türüdür.
Sadece o bçlgede yaşıyor olması sebebiyle kıta ülkelerince kültürel ve sembolik olarak özel bir yere sahiptir.
Genellikle kıta ülkelerinden Guatemala'da yaşayan bu kuş yine bu ülkenin para birimine adını vermiştir.
